I heard on GPN that there was supposed to be a new H.P. flywheel coming out for the G230RC. Is this true? When will it be out? Where can I get it? Thanks in advance.

We should have a lightened one in about 3 weeks. We don't have a price yet, however.

We received a large shipment of G23RC, HE23HP Flywheels in and were prepared to lighten them ready for sale. As we had not done it to that flywheel before, we assumed the process would be similar to the LH Flywheels. We eiscovered that the flywheels are assymetrical in design, with the fins being an uneven number, not equally spaced and of different lengths. There is so little extra material anywhere on the flywheel, we cannot at this time see how we will approach the job. We are working on it and will update you on progress.

Check on the ADA Website Sunday or Monday and you will see that a Replacement flywheel, and coil that are exact replacements for the HE23HP and the G23RC are available for sale. The possibility of being able to put the RC Ignition on you Modified LH is now real. The Pricing on the Superior Parts compared to the Genuine parts will allow this possibility. The coil is actually the same one that is used by Zenoah on their G23RC's. They buy the coils the same place Superior does. The flywheels are however made by Superiors Engine Manufacturer. I have looked them over and they look terrific!

Is the HP's flywheel lighter than the G230RC's?

I weighed a Zenoah G230RC flywheel at 7.55oz and a Superior HE23HP flywheel at 7.52oz. So, they're basically about the same.
You can find the Superior flywheel here (http://www.adaracing.com/viewitem.php?id=sp239020&maincat=scooter) and the IKEDA-D ignition coil here (http://www.adaracing.com/viewitem.php?id=sp231010&maincat=scooter).

Are the lightened flywheels really ever going to come out?

No, we will not be offering lightened flywheels for the RC. The flywheel has an odd number of fins, so you cannot just remove every other fin, like on the LH flywheel. Unfortunately, we did not notice this before talking about offering the lightened flywheels.
