View Full Version : Why not use the stock head?

An ADA billet head was recommended to me for my 1100ZXi. I would use the 30cc dome and premium gas. Why couldn't I have the stock head milled to 30cc? Wouldn't that give the same result? On the 454 in my Camaro I purchased aftermarket heads because of the increased port size for airflow and bigger valves, hence more power. With a 2 stroke, it seems there wouldn't be any difference since all the head does is provide a place for combustion (no valves or airflow). Am I missing something? I'm new to 2 stroke power.

increasing the compression with your stock head can be done, but remember when you remove mass off the head you can suffer in the cooling dept and reducing its mass will make it weaker and prone to cracking. the ada head is billet, not aluminum cast like your stock one. billet = very high strength and not to mention good looks!
