Here are the 2 basic pocketbike engines.

The one on the left is the 47cc reed engine and it is generally found in the smaller pocketbikes. This engine comes in 2 sizes 40.2cc and 48.7cc. The 40.2cc is the most common, has a bore of 40mm and a stroke of 32mm. The 48.7cc is considered a big bore and it has a bore of 44mm and a stroke of 32mm.

The engine on the right is the 43/49cc piston port engine. This also comes in 2 different sizes, 42.7cc and 51.7cc. The 42.7cc is probably most common and the bore is 40mm and the stroke is 34mm. The 51.7cc big bore has a bore of 44mm and a stroke of 34mm.
