I have been modifying a 2005 Giovanni F1. Currently I am running a 15:1 compression big bore ADA racing kit, timing key, walbro 16mm carb kit, ADA billet reed kit, and hp clutch springs. I have been using the stock dual outlet exhaust pipe. I am curious as to whether or not the boost bottle will be effective with this set-up. What about my exhaust? I am getting a bad sputter in my top-end speed. I radared tonight at 32 mph. When I turn my high-speed jet clockwise 1/16th of a turn the sputter gets worse. My sparkplug looks great. I have awesome torque running a 6/62 gear ratio. I am trying to break the 40 mph barrier. Any suggestions?

you are probably running too lean so dont turn the adjustment screw in anymore or you could seize the engine. adjust the screw out a see what happens. you want the setting about 1/8 of a turn out from the fastest setting.

I have spent hours adjusting 1/16th of a turn but just when I think I have it the bike does something strange, for example, after I make a test run it will be idling so high that the kill switch can't shut it off. (I mean it is idling to the point that the brakes start to smoke trying to hold it) Then it will just stall out. One minute it idles perfectly then it won't idle at all. Is it common for bikes to surge irratically at top end speeds.

sounds like maybe you have an air leak somewhere like at a carb gasket. if an engine starts sucking air through a gasket or hole in a fuel line it will speed up because the air leans it out. also make sure all your carb mounting and reed bolts are tight.

IF your thinking of putting a boost bottle on your pb, then you should, im preety sure it won't mess anything up because you have a few parts added to your PB. Also, I bought a boost bottle, and in august i will be testing it out on my pocketbike. I will tell you if it makes a difference in performance or not. LoL , the only problem is , is that you have to wait a month to find out this information. Anyways, Good Luck wit your PB!

I have found a wonderful improvement in bottom end performance with the boost bottle added. If you are adding the boost bottle to a walbro intake be careful not to drill the hole for the fitting in front of any of the mounting screws, and also be aware of the throttle linkage. I found it a bit tricky. In fact, I had to tap the first hole, and JB weld a set screw in it to seal it up. But everything is working great now. If you want to hear something spooky, I just got smoked this evening by a bike that has an ada reed, timing key, clutch springs, but a backyard exhaust port job and a drilled out stock carberator. This bike flys. The driver out weighs me by 40lbs. The piston is only 40.2mm. I am not getting the revs that he is. The only thing not stock on mine now is the exhaust. I just wish I could find an exhaust that has been proven to increase exhaust. Any ideas?
