something in ur muffler that slows u down

is it true there is somthing in the muffler that slows ur pocket bike down. if so how do u get it out??

take ur muffler off and find out, most mufflers restrict air flow, which will slow it down some, i mod all my pocket bikes and take off the actual "muffler" and run a strait pipe, its louder that way, and makes it vibrate more(which makes for uncomfortible riding at top speed), but you get a gain in top end from like 2-4 mph, depending on ur bike

how can u take the air flow restricter out

u really cant, without totally ripping it to shreads, inside a muffler, its like a maze, it starts at the end of the cylinder, and zigzags to the hole where it comes out, like i said, your best bet is to run a straight pipe. here, umm, is there a "box" that bolts directly to the back of your motor? if there is take it off and build an exhaust pipe that runs from the cylinder port straight out to the back of your bike, and by ther way, what kind of bike do you have?? email me for more questions jsumrs15@aol.com, and ill try to post some pics of what i did to my bikes conserning the muffler.

im only 15, but trust me, i run a personal shop in my basement fixing dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, go karts, pocket bikes, any thing with a motor. iv been doing this since i was like 9 or 10. most of my family are mechanics.
