Hello,

I have a problem with the Bigfoot Mechanical suspension that I just got. I'm trying to put my Bigfoot wheel between the fork and it will fit through the calipers, however the smaller silver spacer that goes over the axle bolt will not fit. I've tried to adjust the screws that change the angle of the fork's fingers, but I have had no luck. The spacer is always about 1-3mm too large. I measured the size of the spacer against the one I had in my older Superior front fork, but it is the same size.

Should I try to bend the fork fingers outward to make the spacer fit over the axle bolt? Should I post a picture?

Thanks!

Here's a picture of how big the gap is versus the size of the spacer:

What brand of billet wheel is that? Is it the ADA? The width of the wheel should be the same as stock. If you force the fork leg out to get the spacer to fit, be sure that the suspension still operates without sticking.

Yeah, I'm using the ADA billet rim. Should I sand/cut the wheel spacer until it fits?

Thanks!

Yes, you can cut the spacer. I'm just trying to figure out why it doesn't fit. All of the ones that we've done have fit no problem. The spacing on the forks should be consistent, as the fork tree is machined. What is the measured distance between(inside) the fork legs where the axle goes through?

I think the measured width of my fork is about 14.8cm. If you look at it from an angle the right leg of the fork is a little bit bent inwards. Perhaps it could be a bad weld?

Here's another top-down picture of the fork and my wheel.

From the measurements I am getting, your fork is correct. I just turned the one fork leg and put the spacer in as I turned the leg back straight.

OK, I managed to squeeze it on finally. I didn't cut it, but I twisted one of the legs a bit and managed to get it to fit. Here's a pic.

Thanks for the help!
