What mods should you install before a timing key?

timing keys do nearly nothing on most engines, first mod should be a pipe and gearig

im not very farmiler with the gearing on a blade z, all i can tell you is bigger front+smaller back = more top speed, and visa versa, so check the stock gearing and get a few tooth bigger in front and a little smaller in back.
hope that helps

Get a pipe and hp carb. As for the timing key they are intended for smaller cc motors so you should see a slight performance gain on your 33cc.

Stock gear is a 15.
That little motor wont turn a bigger gear unless you go pipe & Carb, then only 1 tooth or 2 at best (I think a 17 is way too big for it)
Do yourself a big favor... stop buying goodies for that little motor and save just a bit more for a real motor like the 47R. That will end all the 'how fast can I go' questions---
