i have an old 164cc toro lawnmower engine and i have been thinking about making a go kart. would it be worth the amount of work it takes to make the engine into a vertical engine or should i just buy and old chainsaw engine. would it be hard to move the carb , fuel, and oil into different positions? sorry i cant explain this very well i dont know how to explain it...

i was gonna do that to but its extremely hard work i mean on a scale from 1 to 10 its a 10 i found it easyer to just buy a go-cart engine

if i got two sprockets or similar things to weld to the axle and the bottom of the engine(spinning part) to convert the power, would it work or would the sprockets just wear out too fast. what problems would i have.
again idk if what im saying makes sense to other people :o
i dont really want to spend money on an engine and i get sprockets for free so unless im told this is a crap plan then i am prolly gunna do this

well with the two sprockets u would need to twist the chain an it would bend the sprocket or break the chain

no chain im not that stupid. i mean like one sprocket turns the otherand one is direct on the axle another on the bottom of the engine

what you could do is take the rear end off of an old riding lawnmower, they have a special axel that will run on verticle engines.
