  • seeking a high compression head for 47cc.

I'm looking to raise the compression of this 47cc chinese pocket bike engine but the cylinder and the head is a single cast unit, I guess referred to as a "jug" sometimes. Typically on better made 2-cycles the head is separate from the cylinder, which enables one to swap out the head for one of higher compression. I'm not familiar with anyone who has something for this engine.

I've read that the 47cc engines are actually 39cc and I'm just thinking outloud, but I wonder if I could swap out the piston and head for a different head and cylinder like they do for racing go-peds and scooters. I guess I'm looking for something like the "Billet Head Kit ET" http://www.gopeddepot.com/en-us/dept_32.html only for the "47cc" engine.

I'd buy a billet head from ADARacing in a second if they made one.

    thanks in advance,

    peakhp

actually you are in luck.. giliani racing does make high compression cylinders for cag's.. i emailed giliani yesterday bc i am inquiring if he will make a big bore kit somewhere down the road.. if he does, im getting his product. unless ada beats him first :-)

    check it out >> http://www.gianniniracing.com/cagllariad.html

We will be making one for the stock cylinder. I am just trying to find a good source on a couple of hundred cylinders, so that we can have them machined and ready to go. But, I don't know of any big bore cylinders available for them.

This is the closest you can get to a big bore..

but its still a jug-type mod.. id rather have a big bore with adjustable hats to adjust for compression ratios.. that would be dope!

Yeah that would be awesome. Thanks for the good links! I will keep my fingers crossed for a few weeks to see if ADA finds a supplier.

          thanks all,

hey brooks, i was wondering since the 50cc cylinders exist, (from adrenilenes site) and i heard that they are not bored out 40cc cylinders, is ada willing to base there kits on that? let me know, im really interested.

btw here are some pics of the bigbore kit from adrenline. one member of pbp installed one..

                    Trevor Simpson Billet Cag Headkit

This is a limited edition Billet Headkit for the Cag Pocketbike. This kit dramatically improves the performance of your motor by raising the compression and also allows it to run much cooler due to the large billet aluminum fins. You can raise compression by using different domes. Kit comes with a 13:1 dome so you can still run 91 octane and higher compression domes will also be available soon.

is that a 50cc setup? or a 40cc setup? i've seen that before, but with the pipe im getting the aluminum head is a little big. the only one that i know who makes circular heads and hats is guilianiracing.

nice. is that your setup? do you have pics of it on your pb?

it's for a 40cc,it's a limited addition so i don't know if you can get it anymore.i still like the Giannini set-up,for $249.00 they will check and work on your entire motor.the trevor simpson head kit is $219.00 just as you see it in the pic's.
                        i don't have a cag,but i'am getting a blata 2.5.it has the same engine as a daytona/cag.

sweet! the blata's are pretty dope. im planning of getting guillianis 4 petal reed block kit. that would be dope if ada makes one.. *hint hint ada* maybe if i have time i can make one in CAD and send the file to them to produce it.

The ADA Racing? billet head should be release within the next 2 weeks. The head shell is $39.95 and the dome is $9.95. Then you just need to machine your cylinder to our specs or send it in to us to have it machined for around $30(price to be determined yet). That would put the cost of the complete kit at only $79.90! We will also be selling complete kits with pre-machined cylinders in the near future.

are there any high compression products for the midbikes(x1/x2)? i know you could use thinner gaskets, mill the cylinder, i would wanna get a custom made piston cause i just ordered my alki carb. any ideas on how much it would cost? like deposit and all, 300? more?
