        Ahem

I just happen to have a freshly rebuilt, bored, ported, 79XR80 motor that has been taunting me ever since I bought my X1. I have found the little 2stroke quite dissapointing. Nice to know I'm not the only one.

Does anyone have any ideas about the suspension on these things?
I mean.... The frame geometry is nearly perfect. (handles pretty good)
But the rear "shock" might as well just be a rubber bumper. And the forks flex like a cane pole.

Does anyone remember the Yamaha YSR50?

I Tooo Was Disapointed At The 2 Stroke Motor ,if I Were You I'd Inplant That Motor You Have With The Quickness....as For The Shocks (if We Can Call Them That) Their Is A Few Thigs You Can Do ....note I Have Not Tried But Others Have Successfuly ..you Can Install 2 Gass-assist Shocks In Front For Extra Support ....and In The Rear Cut A Link Of Coil Of The Spring ...this Will Drop Ride Hight And Give A More Reclinded Feel ..the Last Idea Was A Theory Only But I Think It Will Work

when i saw the shifter i thought it was a 3 speed semi-automatic[no clutch required for shifting]

hell yea that rocks, a two-stroke as well!! fun fun fun....

what about 80cc kits? will they fit in the engine on that frame?

actualy it's a four stroke ,3 speed w/o manual clutch..it idels in first gearor second or third untill you hit the gas ....but the big bore kits go far beyond 80cc...i think it tops out at 125 cc....not to mention after market turbos & ...superchargers........

yea i know it gets bigger but will it all fit? i first started and grew riding on an 80cc yamaha quad that was semi automatic four stroke [my,my the good ol' days]

i thought xr's were 2 stroke, guess not ha! what year engine you using?

oh i see what i did i read xr-crf as xr and got excited. small case of selective reading
