  • Charlees mainstream Generic g62 build. *first post*

Hello there. Like many of us, not new to gopeds, just getting back into riding. I have not done this in 13+ years so I find this quite rewarding ,nostalgic and therapeutic . I started out wanting to do this g62 build on a hard tire ped. I changed my mind and scooped up a Bigfoot a few days ago to work on that. Since I been out of the game for such a long time I'm updating my self on new products and methods. All o know is that when I got back into it I was going to build a 62. I got crappy pics tonight. Will post more tomorrow of the bf frame it's going on. It will be a spindle driven 78mm clutch setup. Don't ask why. I f'ed up lol so that's what I'm working with. Got more ports on the way. Basic stuff. Skopod. G62 longblock. Bf with basic boltons and a few biker goodies which you will see soon. Wj71 carb. Ada billet manifold. I'm gonna tig a pipe since I I been wanting to fire up my miller tig for a min. I apologize if the pics are huge. If i f it up il go back and resize or use photobucket

    This is the motor

This is the sport it was going to go on originally. Had a tired lh that I'm just going to use to power another frame

The clutch will be sandwiched between the frame and the motor. If it was chain drive then yes, Reverse all the way. Since skopod kit makes the 62 turn like an rc, anywhere rc goes, this can go providing its spindle. I was not going to run a clutch originally but it will serve as a 3rd bearing so I don't put direct stress on the crank. Not to mention I looked higher and low for a spindle that fit the 62 crank and I could not find any. The clutch drum that will essentially have the spindle bolted to it. I hope that clears things up. I like spindle driven peds. I'm not pushing for tons of power. Chain is superior. I may eventually lock the clutch so it could be direct drive. Depends on how it goes

They are out of stock on that. I tried ordering it online and it wouldn't let me. I even went to Ada personally since I live down the street from them and they told me they didnt have any nor the bolt. That's what they said at least. I don't know any hookups

You mentioned not being able to find a spindle, and ADA does have them in stock.

The spindle bolt, that is my "For Sale" thread. ADA is out of stock on those, so I made my own. I have three or four still collecting dust.

Yeah I saw your post for the bolts. At the time I did not have a membership. But I thought I was sol since even the guy at Ada said the spindles were obsolete. So it did me no good getting a bolt so I went my route. Thanks for the help tho.

What im trying to say is im pretty sure if u mount that engine to a bigfoot frame its gonna spin the wrong direction. I could be wrong but just trying to give ya the heads up.

Since it looks like he already has a conversion kit I don't think that's an issue.

The Skopod kitted 60 engine on a BF frame will be fine. It's the same as running an RC. If it was a regular 60 engine with no conversion kit then there would be a problem, but because Skopod 60s have the crank spinning in the opposite direction it will work out.

When an engine is on a chain drive, you want the crank to spin in the same direction as the wheel. When it's spindle, you want it to spin in the opposite direction.

More parts arrived today. I'm waiting for my clutch to arrive. Should be here in about 2 days

The Ada billet kit is nice. It makes placing the wj carb in a much more friendlier position. I will play around as i go. I will snap a few pics of the Bigfoot that will be getting all this. The scooter is Nothing fancy, just boltons and wear and tear. I bought it about a week ago. As far as the cylinder you see on the picture is to refresh a tired lh that came with the ped shown above. That motor will eventually go into a stock ped im piecing together from old parts. More on that later.

Big difference between carbs. I will see how bad it may overcarb the motor. Just fiddling with positions
