  • Dsport’s 2020 GSR40 build!!

Hey guys, so I’ve been itching to start a new build. I recently came across POSSIBLY the most neglected 40 ever, which I feel obligated to bring back from the dead. I’m gonna want some user input on this one.

What motor would you guys like to see? 43L, reeded gp460, or the monster g62PU? Maybe a Honda GX50 4 stroke?

                  I have something in mind...

For the frame components, my idea is to use as much of the original components as possible. Rear fender is super rough, previously melted from a pipe. I threw some JB weld on it, gonna work on sanding it out tomorrow. Bar stuff is thrashed, not sure how much can be salvaged. Engine mount is drilled to crap. It’s gonna take some work...

Front single sided MD fork came in the mail today. Big thanks to member @blt118 for hooking it up! Hacked up my stock fork and went to weld the bits together when I noticed my old style fork was .25” too short :/ so I made a spacer and welded everything together.

Got the fender painted up. Looks pretty good.

finally had a little time to work on this today.

That fork arrived quicker than I thought!

Does the bothy fork look slightly off due to welding 2 single sided forks together? I was going to attempt that with the 2 forks I had, but my OCD always held me back.

                          Looking good dsport!
