  • Lock down wont fit with clutch installed

    Hi guys,

My name is David and im new to the forum as well as to gopeds. I bought a stock big foot (yellow frame) and quickly decided it wasnt quick enough for me. Shortly afterwards i purchased the following

    cy27rc
    Ada lockdown
    Ada third bearing support
    54mm clutch

I have a couple of questions that i was hoping you guys could answer and possibly post some pictures of.

first i cant see to get the lockdown to fit on the third bearing support with the clutch installed. there is a mounting bolt in the way. I also have the lockdown adapter bolt that i was told i needed that doesnt appear to be useful at all.

next is i dont understand why the long drive spindle has the threaded end. I have the bolt but i dont understand whats going on there.

also can you tell me what the point of the spring is with the third bearing support.

I have searched for this all over google and forums and havent come up with the answers or even any decent pictures

    thanks
    David

You need the billet spacer that goes between the clutch and the 3rd bearing.

The lockout extra bolt is just a replacement bolt that comes with the kit btw. I bought it also and realized it's only used for super bigfoots and yellow frames for the lock down part on the 3rd bearing.

I have the spacer. Two bolts are hitting each other. One on the clutch and the bolt that holds the lockdown to the third bearing. I called ada and they said these items are not suppose to work together where as ddm never said anything about this. Does anyone have pics of these three items installed together.

The search for "Bigfoot" returned a lot of helpful and useful threads. This is one where some pictures were shared that may help.

I'm trying to do the same thing on a green frame bigfoot.. I'm gathering parts and hoping I'm not throwing away money with hopes to make it work.. so far i have the 3rd bearing kit.. the triangle ada lock down kit and i just ordered the clutch... I'm reading that you also need a "Blastbillets Bigfoot/Sport Clutch Spacer" but that part is out of stock at ddm. so I'm guessing until that part is back in stock this setup wont work for me.. unless someone can sell me a used spacer?

Just use some washers or spacers.
I don't know the distance off hand but 4-5washers is
Close so I'd pick up 20 just to make sure when your spacing it out.
                  Ride that sucker.

I'll take a better picture and see if I can find the packaging they came in. There is another post on here in the how to section where someone used the same spacers
