  • How to get to 40+mph

Hello, somewhat new to the scene. I recently bought 2 Martin Monsters for a pretty good price. One has inflatable street tires the other has inflatable off-road tires. Both came with decent looking pipes(don't know brand and haven't figured out how to post pics)air filters, they both have Zenoah engines but it doesn't say which model. I'd like to get these in the 40+ mph range, what kind of things can I do to achieve this? Also what can I buy/do to make them safer such as brakes, handlebars etc. I wanna go 40+ but I don't want it to fall apart at 40+mph lol

Only ped I had that did 45(45.3 GPS) was my GSR40TSI, had the TS porting, I had a super rare Engine Trix (not 1000% sure on that) exhaust pipe, dont remeber the name it's been like 9 years since I owned it (lost it in a house fire, only things left were the exhaust and the frame , ended up just leaving it in the trash pile, which I regret now) it was more of a top end pipe, anyways, and i think I had 6/80 gearing? dont remember to be honest, but that thing SCREAMED, I miss it a lotDSC01245.jpg

Forgot to add, this wasn't the motor that made the 45mph BTW, this is maybe a 37-38 MPH G43 (I ported it) threw the TS motor on it and with same mods it was 45 easily, low end kinda sucked but I had a 7.5k clutch (I think) so helped some, but i wouldn't let anyone ride it because I WARNED my ex-roomate that it's crazy fast, he went down a block and ate shit, this was with the TSI motor, throttle got stuck and it was full throttle for almost a minute until i got to it, plus cracked engine cover, and after that it never ran right again, regrettably sold the motor.

Oh man that's terrible I'm sorry! It looked awesome in it's day though that's for sure, I love the look of that pipe. So iis it more realistic to get to and stick around 40mph?

A stock GP460 should be able to get you to 40mph with the right gearing so I’d recommend that. A G620PU is ok, but it’s gonna need porting, and they’re less fun in stock form than a GP460.

Also, how much you weigh will play a huge role in how fast your too speed will be. Alot of the fast guys usually weigh next to nothing.

Okay good to know, I got the G620PU for a good price with some things done to it (don't recall what, he had records though for everything done to it.....I should find out) I'm still learing alot as I go and this may be a dumb question... but wouldn't a 62cc engine be faster then a 46cc?? Or how does that work? And as far as weight my buddys kid called me skelator the other day....lol

Top speed is governed by horsepower, which is a function of RPMs. The GP460 revs higher, so it’s comparable in HP to a stock G620PU. Also, since we only have one gear, he who revs higher will win the top speed game.
