  • Bartolone Racing cylinder reed install.

I got the reed for my zenoah g260 with cy29 top end head kit and would like to know how people do commonly to set these up? Whwt do you guys use as a spacer in between the reedblock and carb? Best way to set up pulse? Reed porting guidelines? Etc.

    Thanks.

        thank you basement cat

Basement cat your article educated and inspired me so I decided to go for a 5th and 6th port design but also windowed the piston because I would like to see what my results are first without case pulsing it first. The more air and fuel the better I figure, so I even cut my boost ports below the intake down to the deck. Can't wait to here this bad boy scream. Oh yeah I did have to order a white vinyl ADA manifold to carb spacer in order for the carb to sit against the reed proper and the pulse hole to line up. It also requires much shorter intake bolts because there is barely any room inside the reed block for them to thread into, maybe just over an 8th of an inch. Anyways, that's it. Enjoy the pics from me learning through this reed journey.

Thank you for taking the time to hunker down and write that article. There were some concepts that you kind of glossed over and needed to elaborate on more but that's OK, only made my journey that much more meaningful and memorable. I can't wait to practice more and cut more ports after I blow this top end up.

Thanks for the feedback. Which parts did you think I should add to? I've been considering updating the document a bit and some feedback would be welcome. Thanks!
