  • Anything I can do to make the GP460 quieter?

Just picked up a lightly used stock gt46 trailer ripper and am wondering if there's any thing I can do to make it quieter. Performance is not a huge concern. I'm assuming an aftermarket pipe with a silencer is still going to be louder or maybe just marginally quieter than the stock muffler or is there a magic quiet pipe setup? Basically is there anything I can do to make a noticeable difference? Also from some reading on the forums it looks like if I do anything to drop the power from stock I should probably change the clutch to the GSR40? Thanks

460 is just a loud engine, some of it comes from the intake and not just the exhaust.

The Jetpro Rhino silenced pipe is the quietest you will get the 460.

I had the same question when I got my GSR40. No one ever chimed in whether a silenced pipe would be quieter than the stock exhaust ran into the frame with a snuffler. I guess loudness just really isn't a concern for majority pedders. I can tell you that my 40 is a **** load quieter snuffled than it is just run through the muffler. If size is no concern, you could look into getting a muffler made for RC or small dirt bikes and attaching that. It would take a lot of work but those are real mufflers that should bring down ur decibels.

I have a trail ripper that needs an engine, or rebuild. I plan on buying a new engine for it and rebuilding the one that needs repair. Any suggestions? I would appreciate any suggestions... Is there a better engine than the gp460? I would prefer a Japanese manufacturer. Thanks

if you want reliability go with the g430rc, its a 40cc japanese engine
if you want speed go with the 460
if you want good speed and reliability go with the huashengtaishan 63cc engine.
another contender is the zenoah g62 (japanese engine) but you need ~$1000 for that
