What’s up guys!! It’s finally here. After years of running and modifying other Zenoah g62 adapter kits designs, I decided to come up with something new. Hopefully I can extend the opportunity for a few of you to own one as well.

To start off, quick disclaimer- TS, Tetras, skopods are all awesome pieces of hardware. If you own any of these solutions- right on. The topics in this post are my observations, I respect and honor everyone’s opinions, and this certainly IS NOT a who made the best 60 kit post. We can start a new thread for that. But I think we can all agree, once you join the 60 club, there’s no going back

Sooo here we go. There is one thing that has always bothered me regarding the above g62 adapter kits which utilize the factory case. They all require the g62pu to operate in a way which was unintended by zenoah- backward. Operating in reverse causes the case/cylinder design to not work as efficiently as it should-which results in loss of power. This may contribute why 60s have been “rumored” to be gutless out of the box, I can assure you they are not. Porting can help, but it would be nice not to dissemble and cut up a brand new engine. When I set out to design the TS-60, I knew this one of the first things I wanted to fix.

Next, the flywheel. Flywheels are a functional items which dampen vibration keep an engine running smoothly. 60s are a BIG engine which creates big vibration. I knew I wanted the DS-60 to use the gp460 flywheel because it’s the largest readily available option. I considered the g43, but the castings were terrible, and since the clutch mounted flywheel needed to be completely concentric to avoid vibration, and my TS60 already had tons of vibration, this seemed like a path of resistance. I did however takeaway one feature of the TS60 g43 adaptor design, the key-less taper lock flywheel. TS flywheels are re-machined not re-keyed, since the 460 and 60 share the same crank taper size, this allows the use of a standard off-the-shelf gp460 flywheel. It may seem strange at first, not having a key to rely on, but many automotive manufacturers are going this route, relying on friction alone (and successfully) in order to hold timing. Instructions are included on how to align the flywheel for install, it’s super easy.

Another thing I want to focus on is cooling. The 460 centrifugal fan draws air from the center and accelerates it outward. The cooling fan intake holes need to be located towards the CENTER of the fan, the fan works like a water pump in your car, if you don’t design the inlet outlets in the correct spots, the pump will be ineffective. I wanted a kit that can hold WOT all day long, without relying on more surface area and the bigger fins of an aftermarket head kit. I was pretty disappointed to see that some of the other g62 engine adapters did not account for this. Trever Simpson knew this, so I modeled the DS-60 fan intake design similar to the TS.

The DS-60 is more or less a hybrid of what I determined the best features of all the other options out there, it doesn’t mean I’m correct, it just means I did my homework and had the opportunity to study a plethora of other adapter kits before making this one. I didn’t necessarily design this kit to sell, but a close friend convinced me to offer this to you guys as an opportunity to adapt the infamous 62 to your GSR Uni frame or GSR40. This kit uses all GP460 accessories. So a g62 with this kit can be used in place of a 460 long block.

I’m only making 13 kits. Once they are gone, I don’t have plans to make more.

Is there an existing pipe that fits this configuration since most others have exhaust facing rearward? Thanks.

Pretty much any 460 exhaust, just take your pick. You’ll need to oblong the mounting holes a little, or buy an 460/60 oring mounting flange, you can also message Jetpro and he’ll sell you a 460 rihino with 60 mounting flange. For mounting, the two fan cover brackets will fit, you’ll have to extend the clutch side mount.

That was the only pipe I had at the moment so I put it together works very well with the mb manifold the stock 460 manifold works as well i just had the part at the time....but after a few months of riding I got the chance to buy a rs pipe for a good deal now this motor runs and sounds very mean with the rs pipe

but yah most of the 460 pipes should work beside the motor mount part with the bracket. the fan cover side should be fine abut yah 😉
