keep it at 25:1, avoid long idle times, it will cause plug fouling due to loading up
keep the H needle at stock settings until you have ran more tanks
it smokes because of the oil in the gas/ blue
    get out and ride it

Anyone know what a good setting for a g43l with ada hp carb, juicebox and pipe is? It just has one needle.

Which carb do you have on your active? Is it the stock wyk60a?
If so I think i have mine set at 1.5 turns. I also have a evo 2x with active 50 and Puzey pipe but I have a custom 22T gear on mine.

          I have gps mine at 42mph/ 67kmh

Hey guys I read through and didn't see anything for the 257 carb tuning any one know the settings? Is it the same as the 167 carb. Want to run the 257 on a g2d headkit with pipe.
If it's not scary fast, it's not fast enough!

I ran the 257 on my G2DHP and noticed major mid to top end performance gain over the 167. The 257 I ran was at about 2 on High and 1.5+ on low which should be a start. The 257 is a great carb but should only be used one a fully modified g2d, it's not worth it on a mild build. If you do pick one up make sure you buy a needle clamp, they are a pain to tune. They also will need a standard style WT butterfly shaft to be used on a scooter.

this is where modifying the 167 starts to make sense on those engines, i never have found luck on 1140's running 603's/668's/813's

257's work awesome, but yes you need some modification done first before to get it behave like it should, when you swap the throttle shaft and arm, i would run it with a bottom pull linkage (cy linkage)

Thanks for the input guys! I'm def running it on a g2d hp stroker headkit etc so I think the 257 is a good fit! I was thinking of using a 603 throttle arm so I could use it with a regular throttle linkage. All I need is the needle clamp so it stays in tune. I'm getting ready to port the top end so I have some time to locate one!

Did you do the proper modifications to run the 1148 with a stroker? I might be going this route on my ADA build with Erics help.

What kind of mods? I'm just getting ready to put the stroker in and make sure everything spins flush. I know I may have to file the piston skirts a little bit.

Sorry I am new to forum and to gopeds. I know this might not relate to what y'all are talking about but my gsr 40 seems like it's wanting to go pretty hard before I even accelerate. Is this a carb problem?

like when you start it it tries to take off on you? if thats the cause then I would imagine your idle is set too high of your throttle cable is pinched and pulling on the carb swivel. try turing your idle down

Your carb is partially open, remove the throttle cable from the carb. Check your idle setting with the engine running, go from there.

Thanks very much! Also, Can y'all point me on this site where to find videos on how the carborator works? Also as I was fooling with it it looked as if my gasket that connects my pipe to my carb is broken. There was oil all on the front of the carb.
