ADA Stalker-ST inital impressions
I gotta say I'm very pleased with the GIRTH of the box. Its a big, beefy, stylin lookin can. It's larger than I thought it would be, but I had the other cans on the market in mind. This box is a bit heavier and more substantial. I REALLY like the tapered stingers, they look very secure, and locked in, you wont loose these. The spacer is also detailed with a nice groove to assit in cooling and matches the detail on the box itself perfectly, Just another attention to fine detail from ADA!
I am pleased with the exhaust note on the 40cc motor. I had my helmet on and it didnt seem troublesome at all, very smooth actually. I'd have to get some outside impressions on the '1/2 block away sound check' but it did seem to be doing its job on the tone of the exhaust.
With its 'one size fits all' application I'm left to wonder which motor it actually performs best on. Since it fits from 35 to 47cc motors, its a interesting question. I'd like to line the 4 motors up and see which motor breathes best.
I'm going to mount one on the Tanaka Pipe mount that lets you put a can on the end of the pipe next. As a 'stealth' precaution and to get on the good side of the sound police.Comment

Mike,
Funny you ask! One of the recent ones ordered is destined for a 2 speed with a 47-R. I'll take some installed pics if I can and get the owners impression.Comment

It looks like someone should have measured twice!
When installed on a 47 (or a 47-R) it just doesnt clear. In fact it actually touches!
So, all you 47-R riders... until there is a change (if one) the ADA Stalker for Tanaka's does NOT fit the 47.
This was installed by a customer who did not notice until he saw the fuel leaking.Comment

Thanks for the input Jim. We have eliminated the recommendation on our website to install the Bladez Stalker Can on the 47cc engine until we are able to investigate all of the difference's that there may be in these engines gas tank designs and mounting locations.
In our shop we have the Tanaka tc-47 is this the same engine that had the mounting clearance problems? Was the Staker installed using the stock exhaust heat isolation gasket? I have attached a photo of the stalker installed on the engine in our shop. There seems to be plenty of clearance between the tank and the exhaust on this model 47 even with the protective gasket installed.Comment

Like I mentioned, it was a user install. I can tell you that he did not have the heat shield installed as that was a motor that previously had a pipe on it.
I installed one on a 35 and the clearance was tighter (slightly less) than what you see on the 47. It did have the shield!
There is plenty of room on the top of the mounting, can you just lower the port a tad bit on the can?Comment

I'm not sure if the BladeZ Stalker will, but we are making another Stalker that will fit the 49cc pocketbikes and it may fir your engine. We will put the bolt mounting dimensions on the website for all of our Stalkers. Then you can just measure the bolt spread on your engine. One of the Stalkers that we have should fit. There are just so many engines out there it is hard for us to keep up with all of them.Comment

It would fit the motor, clearing the tank is another issue. I have not fitted one on those motors yet. If it is the metal covered motor you have a LOT of cutting to do to make it fit.
The can that would fit is the Stalker ST can.Comment
