  • Vid of S2 pipe

I decided to post it here since its a ada pipe. Well here is a vid at the ride in az the other day. Thats my pipe. It made me miss the other half of the ride. B4 that it was cracking at the bracket thats welded to the pipe. I welded that little crack that started. And When I took it off today I noticed there is also a 2nd one kind of close to where I had welded b4 when it cracked. And in the vid that crack I also noticed another one and inch a ways where the spings are held on the pipe. That would be cool if they trippled chromed there pipe tho instead of how its chromed lol
I wish ada would stand behind there products. This looks like a product defect. I will have pictures of every crack soon. I have 4 cracks total. Including the one I welded awhile ago. This is bs man. Btw: I bought it from ddm. Its about 1 year old. It agravates me.

We do stand behind our product, we offer the longest warranty period in the industry. Our warranty terms are here.

Many people don't realize why their pipe cracks. Most of the time it is due to the pipe being hit on the ground at some point. If the pipe is hot and something hits it, there is a chance that it can crack due to the properties of the metal when it is heated. Heat will fatigue most metal, add an impact to that and you may have a problem. Running your engine lean will create more heat to the exhaust pipe and discolor the pipe more. Engine vibration is also a big factor. If your engine mount screws come loose and cause major vibration, it won't take long to stress the pipe that is mounted to the engine and the frame.

Generally, pipes will not crack for no reason.

The metal is very thin almost twice the thickness of a soda can. And usually crap breaks after warranty. IDK But I'll have high res pics of the 3 cracks.

Actually, a soda can is approximately .003" thick. Our pipes are stamped from 20 gauge steel that is .035" thick. I think that you'll find that most other pipes are the same thickness.

I cleaned up the carbon build up on my pipe with a wire brush and grinded the chrome off and welded it up. I noticed that it cracked also on one side of a weld. What does that tell you that the to peices of metal weren't welded correctly. Good thing I have a welder or else I'd be pissed as hell and flame the boards and spam your email accounts. Just saying the truth what I would of done.

After my piped cracked at the last az ride, I welded it. And now it cracked again higher up from the manifold. My friend was telling me about how they use to make them thicker. B4 wit the old crack it cracked next to a weld like the two pieces of metal wasn't welded right. Thats ada for you.

Actually, for the last couple of years, we have the pipes made thicker than what they were originally. Your friend has it backwards.

You said it cracked next to the weld, well that would mean that the weld was stronger, since the weld itself didn't crack. We have our pipes made by a company in California that makes pipes for many other companies in many other industries, I think they know what they are doing.

Pipes crack due to stress. Whether its the mounting or an impact. If the pipe and the bracket don't line up without any gap, then there will be stress when it's bolted together. If you have your pipe welded to fix a crack, then if too much heat is applied during the weld, then it will crack again in the same area. Every brand of pipe on the market has cracked or broken, that's what warranties are for, for those that offer them(we do). No part is industructable, even though some consumers seem to treat them so.

I am sorry that you've had a problem with one of our products. We offer a warranty better than anyone else in the industry, you just have to follow our warranty procedure. If your pipe was under warranty the first time it cracked, you should have contacted us, we probably would've replaced it no questions.

My S1 pipe cracked but it was my fault. My ped fell off my work bench right on the pipe, then the next day I was jumping over man hole covers and it cracked. Oh well the pipe was awsome while it lasted and I'm gald I got the pipe in the first place.

I find it somewhat disconcerning that people are so quick to claim defect or warranty these days. If anything happens nowadays, people automatically decide whoever made it or sold them it is responsible. I run a power equipment shop, and in 75% of cases of people walking in the front door saying warranty, we find that they did something wrong. No one is willing to take responsability for their actions anymore. I don't think I've ever seen a defective pipe. I have had a couple of pipes crack, but I was able to identify why they did it. The fact is, even if you don't do anything wrong in particular, and you ride your scooter quite a bit the pipe can crack. This is formed sheet metal that is constantly enduring harmonics and heat you can't even imagine. I noticed you ride a hard-tired ped. Ever think about how much more vibration you are transmitting to the pipe just because of that. Peds aren't a buy it ride it and never do anything to it type of machine. They require upkeep that alot of people, especially younger people do not choose to or know to do. I clean my scoot after every ride. I look for anything coming loose, cracking, shifted over, or anything in general that looks out of place. This way, I don't have a problem on a ride, because I take care of any problem before leaving.
