  • Aftermarket air filter in rain?

Is it safe to use an aftermarket filter on a gsr40 in he rain?

I have the stock air filter that takes air from the bottom of the filter. I was thinking about getting an round aftermarket filter but I dont want water to get into the engine if it is raining.

The small amount of water if it got by the oil in the filter would just turn to steam.

Get an “Outerwears” filter cover. They are hydroponic and will repel water.

I drive in the rain and now my engine gives me problems in the higher RPM range. It suddenly stops producing power and it jerkily slows down but it runs fine as long as I don’t go above 35ish mph. Any thoughts on what might have happened when I took it in the rain?
        It’s a 460 by the way….cylinder Reed and rhino.
