  • Got my gsr40 running...what parts should I buy?

I'm thinking a left exit stock exhaust can and a ADA billet chain tensioner and a 8 or 10 tooth front sprocket. I have a 72 tooth in the rear. Any thoughts on these?

Most will highly suggest a tuned exhaust pipe, a large carb kit, and either a 7 or 8 tooth drive sprocket (8 if you don't have to climb hills much). The ADA tensioner is a must have on these.

All good recommendations by turbobox. Good brakes are also a must with more speed. Check out the threads with 160mm MTb brakes. A race pole and some good bars make a world of difference with feel of stability.

I got the ads chain tensioner installed now. Definitely loving that! Got an 8 tooth black magic. Thinking of a 9 tooth or 10 tooth pinion...or keep 8 and lower rear 72 tooth a bit. Not too many hills. Maybe some overpasses but not much. I feel like it has the power to do alright if I swap the gear ratio for slightly higher top speed. At 8/72 now. I much prefer higher top speed.

any suggestions on a pipe? Ideally i would like to change gearing to hit 40mph so is there a pipe made for acceleration? I would really like to make the motor reliable and not mod it too much. But from what I've been told recently its basically a giant g23lh? Do the 2 rings make it more reliable? I love pipes on my rc engines...especially my pps mid bleed.

I just changed the pole to make it taller cause the stock was way too short and I had to bend over. I have a stem and wider bars. I'm happy with it now

the front forks are chrome and the brake tab isn't the same as the rear in the frame...the bottom hole is even with the top hole...it needs to be out farther. I think there is an adapter for that. From what I read, it's for some racing brakes? I have stock mad dog on the rear and it is working good enough. I only hit 33mph tops and try not to full throttle it too much. Im scared to seize yet another engine and I am enjoying riding almost daily again after so long without being able to ride.

I am thinking of swapping the black mad dog bothy forks from my Bigfoot as well as the HD bearing cups. Unless the chrome bothy forks with the odd tabs have some advantage im not aware of?
