  • Attention Ada!!!!!!

Today while I was riding my scoot I heard a loud noise somewhat like an exhaust leak. So, I shut if off right away and looked under the motor and my ADA Bladez pipe broke off right at the flange where it connects at the exhaust port. The flange was still attached to the motor and the pipe was hanging from the rear axle bolt mount. My question is, is there some kind of warranty on that pipe? I purchased my Comp on 02/07/03 at an authorized Bladez dealer in Orange County Ca. and the pipe was included with the purchase. I wouldn't mind purchasing another pipe but I don't understand why it broke there, thats where the welds are at and that should be the strongest part of the pipe! Kinda seems like a defect to me. The pipe has not been abused in any way, I don't jump or do anything that would jepardize the pipe. Let me know what I can do about this. I wouldn't mind sending you the pipe if you need to see it for yourselves. Thank you for your reply!!!!

yo, probably only a 90 day warranty on that stuff man, craftmanship etc., in 3 months you could have ridden it alot or you may have had it mounted incorrectly. I would pursue this at the authorized dealer who sold you the Pipe. If they won't weld it back together, get it done yourself, I doubt if ADA has any liability at this point.

Riding it alot has absolutely nothing to do with!!! Thats like saying that ADA's quality control is sub-standard which I highly doubt or that they make inferior parts. What should I do, not ride it all the time because there is a chance that the part may break? NOT!!! The part should be made to last in the first place! All I'm saying is that the pipe sheared off "AT THE WELD", a place that should be made the strongest "BY THE WELD!" Seems to me that where the pipe meets the flange, this could possibly be the weakest point and should be made the strongest! Could be a defect in the weld or not, fact of the matter is I don't know, thats why I'm here asking! Also, I'm not here looking for a free pipe, if you look at my signature I've spent plenty of coin on my scoot. All I'm looking for is an explanation or a warranty of the pipe and if it is found to be a defect then hopefully ADA will stand behind "their" product!!!

Your not alone f4141. My ADA pipe broke the same way, only about 2 inches out from the flange. Cracked right in half, looked like sombody cut it with a hack saw. I contacted ADA and they also said I need to go through my selling dealer (a good friend). I have herd through the grapevine that they (ADA) are redesigning the pipe to a slip/spring mount, a little more flexable. I ended up taking it to a muffler shop and having it welded together. It isn't the pretiest job and they didn't get it lined up exactly right, but a few extra shims and for now it works.

Quite a sound when it goes isn't it....kaBOOOOOM.

Why didn't you take the pipe in for a replacement? Long past the 180 days of the warranty? If this has been happening alot, maybe ADA should be looking into this!
