  • when are aftermarket companies like ADA & PSI gonna make a clutch for hard tire peds?

I love gopeds except for the fact that they do not come with clutches. I had a BF but that twist lever is a sorry excuse for an attepmt to be a clutch and that's why I sold the damn thing. The liquimatic is the only goped model that has a real clutch well it's a Torque converter but it serves the same purpose as a clutch, the only thing about the torque converter is that IT CAN'T BE USED WITH AFTERMARKET SPINDLES, which mean you will have to use the stock goped sand stick that eats tires quickly.I heard many bad things about the liquimatic torque converter and many good things about it too. I'm very confused about it. come some shed some light on it PLEASE? I heard a LONG time ago the Rich for Scooter Pros was designing a race clutch for solid tire gopeds but it was never released. Till this day I'm waiting for an aftermarket manufacturer to make a cluthc for gopeds but sadly it hasn't been done. I don't know why though, because all the pedders I talk to WISH there peds had a good clutch that won't take too low end away and that will be easy to maintain. I think it will be a good idea for ADA or PSI to make a clutch or toque converter that will be able to use aftermarket spindles for our slid tire Go-Peds.

ANYONE ELSE PLEASE FEEL FREE TO GIVE INFO OR ASK QUESTIONS!

    thank you

                  Clutch

Last winter, in one of my projects a put a clutch on my ADA Micro bike. Since the back half is "goped" in billet form it could be done on a "goped" style scooter. Used a martin monster style clutch (can use different spindles). A little milling and you have a ped with a clutch. By the way it has lasted for the past 3-4 months without a hitch!!

yea I would have done that but the MMI clutch makes the engine stick out too far, and that cluthc takes away too much low end. I heard it myslef form a martin monster dealer. I really hope the ones that ADA will make are gonna be really durable and reliable and most important ease to intall-use and be fairly inexpensive.

Aaaahhh Steve , that was the secret project the clutch was for !
I'm glad it worked out well for you .
And you're right , several folks have applied MMI clutches to their Gopeds and love the results .

                          Dean,

Yes you caught me!! Fairly straight forward milling. Works excellent!! GREAT pit bike. In another thread I noticed you ordered a chain drive system for your Martin. Have you recieved it yet? Does the chain system use a clutch?? If so would like order one also!!

Chain drive system is available . All of MMIs models are clutched chain drive now . I think the MiniStreet may be still offered as a spindle drive . There is , or will be a conversion kit for other brand owners .
