  • question for people that have or owned BladeZ gas scooters

i was just wondering and curious on what the fastest speeds you guys got or had on a bladez gas scooter with stock gearing ( 15 tooth ). the models would be bladez cruz'r, street, xl comp, but can also be for tanaka made gas scooters ( tanaka paverunner ) which were basically exactly identical to the BladeZ ones. and i think the other identical ones were bigboy / phatboy? you dont have to list the speeds for 15 tooth stock gearing, i just wanted to know for 15 tooth, specifically to see if the gearing would hold you back a lot on certain setups that have a lot of power but just dont want to go any faster than a certain speed. and does anyone know the speed difference per tooth on the sprockets? i read somewhere on i believe the bladezscooterboard a long time ago that for every tooth change, its a difference of about 2.5 mph, up or down, so would you basically add all this up per tooth, or can other factors change this?

the 15T on a tanaka with juice box hp carb WYK58, or WT603 with end bleed bladez pipe on knobbies got me around 30-33mph the 16T got me around 35-36 mph and the 18T got me 38-39mph, the g43 is a good motor to throw on ull hit around 40-42 ported juicebox, hpcarp wyk-33 or wt813 with endbleed with a 16t 18 puts you around 42-45mph. now a 460 will put you right in the 40's stock with 15t, each tooth is about 2 mph. run a touch rich on the 460 and you can wot til the tank is empty fill her up and do it again. ill keep an eye on this thread to answer what ever you need bud

I am beginning to believe that the typical immature attitude often seen in the on-line scooter community has been so prevalent that it has become 'accepted' by many and not only expected but considered the norm. jhidi3 burned a bridge or should I say the American Flag when he was here last. As a result I doubt he will be getting much advise from those of us who actually could or did try to help him in the past.

you mentioned g43 engine, i was actually gonna use that engine on my next build since ddm stocks them now, and also because there are many performance mods that are readily available for the engine through their site / and port work which i believe chris bartolone would be able to take care of that for me since i want to buy the TS reed kit which is currently in stock at ddm and it would need the porting job for proper use. i dont really want to gear higher, just want to experiment and see how well of a setup i can get with this modified g43 setup using a stock 15 tooth sprocket, consistency is really important too. im expecting to get a top speed of at least 32 mph. specific mod lists would be a new g43 engine, ts reed kit, walbro hda carburetor with a venturi of about 15mm since ddm told me the reed kit entry hole is about 16mm, so i figured a 15mm venturi would be perfect. hp filter, port work, i dont really know much about this but i guess chris bartolone should know exactly what to do for me based on my setup, tanaka 3 piece, bladez 3 stage pipe, or any end bleed pipe that fits on a bladez with little to no modification, black magic clutch spring, and thats pretty much it that i can think of. oh and i forgot about the gas tank portion, im gonna mount the original gas tank that goes with this engine, just like grandpaglyn did on his bladez cruz'r with g43 engine.

i currently have a tanaka 47r engine in great condition, i bought it off from someone else who said it only went through a few tanks with the bladez scooter which i bought complete with it, at first when i got it, it appeared to run sluggish and a few days later had backfired a lot and i could not get it to start, i inspected the engine, it had rust on the flywheel magneto a little bit, and a lot on the ignition module leggings, so i cleaned it up a bit using sand paper, used a small flat washer in between fan cover and module, new bolts, i ordered a new base gasket, new muffler gasket, cleaned the top of the piston a little, new fuel filter in gas tank, new pulse line, cleaned the carburetor, new spark plug, put fresh new 91 octane fuel using about a 42:1 gas oil ratio and within a few pulls, the engine fired, came to life, warmed it up and it ran great, and its showing no problems up till now. i fixed it yesterday. im looking to sell this tanaka 47r engine for 250 dollars or best offer shipped or picked up for a little less so i can move on to this g43 setup hopefully.

I agree dawman 100%. The message boards are ( or should be) a place where scooter enthusiasts can come to learn, to ask questions, to share, to answer questions, to help others, to inspore and be inspired. I was inspird by people who were friendly and willing to share some 15 years ago. And I have been an active and contributing member of the on-line scooter community ever since, and a Moderator much of that time. I have tried to pay it forward whenever possible, by answering questions that I CAN answer, and to share what I have done, both my triumphs and my mistakes. In hopes that it may inspire others to come up with their own designs.

I do have a fair amount of experience with BigBoys BladeZ's and EVO scooters as I own them all, but I don't try to answer questions that I can't give an honest or helpful answer to. There are WAY to many variables to answer his question of "how fast" will he go with a 15 tooth gear. And unfortunately he has already shown us that he does not do well with suggestions.

The Tanaka 47R is a great motor, and more than capable of going between 30-40+ MPH depending on gearing, mods and rider weight..

Ya after telling me he will torture my family and myself and threatening to kill people and call all Americans/Canadians trash why would I help him Brian? If he fried his brain for the split second that he wrote that message it was still un called for. People were just trying to help him and he goes off in a racist rant. He will never get help from me nor my respect. If you chose to accept what he said and still help him that's your deal. I got respect for everyone in this community except people that don't show me respect or people I care about. And this guy disrespected us all.
