I may not know about something new, but powdercoating and chroming are 2 majorly different things.

Powdercoating is electostaticly applied paint like covering.

    Chrome is a chemical dip.

Chrome Powdercoating is something I havent heard of before.

Lol no its powdercoating that looks like chrome. As in one of the colors they do powder coating in. I was going to have it done in "candy apple blue " but that was way to expensive. Sorry for the confusion.

Some semi translucent powder colors may be applied over chrome to achieve a colored chrome look. I have seen Candy reds blues and greens. Mark Hull did a Knowped in a Candy Teal over chrome, absolutly gergeous.

                  Powdercoat? Chrome?

What you are thinking of is a coating called "cermachrome". It is a ceramic coating that looks similar to chrome but has more of a silver metalic look. It does come in different colors and is very durable, not to mention extremely easy on the eyes. This is the coating we (Tri Power) use for re-coating exhaust pipes or prototypes that will be used in a high heat application. This coating does not turn "yellowish" as does chrome after some time. However, it does start to haze if heated above 1100 degrees F (I believe that temperatrure is correct). Almost anything can be coated with this "angel dust"-- heads, cylinders manifolds, cases, etc...The process is hard to believe--sprayed on green, baked until brilliant white, and turned in a bead of de-burring beads until mirror polish is achieved. Great stuff--try it.

why do yuo want to powdercoat. A chrome dip would look better.

I dont want it to be diped or plated because I would end up ruining it way to quick. The powdercoating is cheaper and more durable.

Hey Tri power scooters where to you have your parts ceramic coated??? I saw of Mark Hulls super Fly peds with the candy Teal of Chrome and it was pretty cool looking. I did a search and I could only find the ceramic chrome, black and satin.
