  • First Impressions of GSR "Juice Box"

Easy install, looks awesome, excellent fit and finish. DEFINITE improvement in throttle response. I can?t say if it made an improvement in top speed, I just got it a couple hours ago and haven?t had a chance to run against any of my friends yet.

I want better throttle response but maybe you can answer these questions when putting the juice box on a GSRTsi...
I'm assuming the juice box works with the stock Tsi carb but can I get better performance from the Walboro 15mm HP carb then from my Tsi carb? Will this work with my TGN air filter?
    thanks

Yes, I have the stock tsi carb and as you can see from the picture the TGN filter works just fine with the Juice Box, in fact I even use an ADA billet choke between the TGN filter and the carb, works GREAT!!. The Juice Box takes the place of the original manifold so it really doesn't affect the air cleaner at all. I haven't used the Walboro carb, so I can't say if it's better or not, sorry.

Was the powerband harder? Where you able to feel any top speed gains?

          blownc5,

Do you even need a ADA billet choke with this engine? Just curious because I;m getting this same setup. Is it the...

I have an identical setup except different gear ratios, no juice box yet (just ordered 1) and no ts headkit yet, and I dont have a choke, but it takes about 20-30 pulls to get it to start, so I put a plastic bag over the K & N aftermarket filter and then it will start in like 5 pulls, so if you don't get a choke you can just use a plastic bag like i do, for some reason i dont like chokes because if you tighten the velocity stack to much you cant use them, and plus sometimes they have a tendancy to full down and choke the motor eaither a little or alot while your riding from the vibration.

No, you don't NEED the choke, but it does make it much easier to start, 4-5 pulls usually.

I have the Walbro carb. So far so good. I had to fatten up the high speed screw a bit to get it running best, but all in all I think the powerband comes on sooner, and stays on longer.

I used an ADA billet choke(see picture). It makes a BIG diferance it starting, just 4-5 pulls usually. Looks factory, works great.

No, not anymore. My dad put a "ProCharger" on his old Vette, but he got a new one earlier this year and hasn't done much to it.

Sorry cg Racer, you asked specifically which choke and I didn't answer you fully in the previous post. I think I got it from ADA's online store but I'm not positive. I remember checking the hole size to make sure it wasn't smaller than the opening in the tsi carb that I have, it was just fine. Maybe Brooks could tell exactly which part number it is.
