You remove the washer from your spark plug... which will lower the spark plug closer to the piston... but dont do it because it could possibly hit... if you want a raised compression then remove your cylender gasket and replace it with a thin layer of liquid gasket.

Ya know... youre example of removing the base gasket has the exact same result of moving the bottom of the spark plug closer to the top of the piston in relation to its position.

Now, as this great debate goes on... do you really think those mods do anything enough to compression to actually make a difference?

          Ba ha ha ha ha!

              Do they work you ask....

Does taking the washer out of the spark plug make it reach the thickness of the washer further into the cylendar? Yes.

Does removing the base gasket raise compression? Yes.

Do either of these improve speed or performance? NO NO NO.

do any of these things improve speed or performance? no no no!
why does it exist, and why do people di mit if it dosnt work?
some mods on scorchin scooters included this one, if it dosnt work, why do they do it?

Its the placebo effect. Guys try simple things and they 'want' to be going faster so they say/think they are.

To the math on the compression. It has so little change it would be nearly impossible to actually improve performance with those mods.

Why does this myth exist? No clue.. it just does.

They are simple to try... go for it... make your own decision!
(your plug will leak and your RTV gasket will eventuyally blow out)

thanks, i did it and it gave me a little punch. i suggest that you go and do it to your CHEAP chineese scooters

                    go-ped = ferari

                    blade z = corrola

                    chineese scooters stink!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4 What one of the fake mods did you do that worked so well giving you more punch? Bahahahaha.

I hope you clarify those statements, you turned a good thread into a question on your sanity. With you whole 18 posts, mebbe you should show yer elders a little respect.

BTW, they are spelled "Ferrarri" and "Corrolla".

Andyman, JBonnardel is prolly the last person on this board to be called a DUMMY.

BTW: The "Spark plug mod" does nothing.

                          A Corrolla huh??????

Let me know when this guy is gonna show up and I'll show him what an Active powered "Corrolla" will do to his sport!

A Bladez is more like an Escalade compared to your sport which is more like an ECHO!!!

Actually... the spark plug mod doesnt doesnt work to the best extent..

But I know for a fact my friend has built many motors along with me and I dont put liquid gaskets on mine but he does on mostly all his motors...and I could tell a bit of preformance change... but maybe its just me...

But like you said JB--you said both of those mods raise compression... well if something raises compression....wouldnt that mean it would raise motor preformance...

Sure it would... raising compression does improve performance.

But like I stated in the original post, not enuf for any performance improvement that you can notice...

Look at it like this... if your stock compression at 13:1 gives you 120psi, these modifications (lets just say BOTH for the emphasis)
will put you at 120.03 psi.

Ohhh Ahh.... now THATS horsepower, time for the 118 octane right?
