  • How good is a rockit key

    I once had a rockit key. I never got to use it becuse it broke. How much difference does it make. Shoould it be something i should buy or just let fly out the window.

      When I get guys in the shop asking about them I tell them its a great mod. Not something you want to do first however, more like something you want to do last.

      Advancing the timimg is great for upper RPM. If your motor is stock and you are running in the lower top RPM band, then it isnt going to do anything for you. If you have a pipe, carb, and maybe some head mods then its the best, cheapest thing you can get.

        1. Only run it on a LH it will give u good performance. 2. Never put it on RC u can fry it with one but go and try it but im not pointing fingers because i know guys on here with rc's and rocket keys that havent blown them but i knew this guy with a sbbk decked, ported, slippery nickle piston and he fryed it.

            That really depends on the motor!
            We use the Rocket Key in the Bluebird 57 and its fantastic. In the Tanaka's we also love it!

            Smaller motors may get a little 'jumpy' with them.

              What am am trying to say is with a stock engine will it make it run better or cause more problems
