  • Goped Sport to Bigfoot CONVERSION.... Can it be done?!?

    Hey fellow Gopedders,

This should possibly be in the custom build section, but here goes...

I have a cy27rc motor with a few mods and a bigger carb etc, and it goes really well and fast. But the only thing is once you hit 50Kph **** starts getting really wobbly and the tiny wheels are all over the place. I have been looking on DavesMotors for Bigfoot Front forks which i could potentally just swap into my original sport stem? It is a flat forked sport. And how about the back wheel and spindle? I would buy a bigfoot and put this motor on it but i'd prefer to be able to put big tyres on my sport, IS IT POSSIBLE? I wonder if anyone else has done this, I feel like the rear end conversion would be a pain in the arse.

    Cheers

Not worth the cost or effort. Buy a used GSR or BF roller and swap motors. An air tire conversion for sports was available way back and will set you back at least $100 if you can find one.

Word around the campfire is the new IPed2 airtire wheels are near same dimensions as hard tire wheels.
The kit you mentioned was basically custom rims with mosquito dx26 tires
and drop out extensions to accommodate for the taller tire.
I agree though, if you are new to gopeds the safe bet would be to buy a Bigfoot to ride and if you still want to convert you can tear into your sport and start fabricating and come out with a kit you could potentionally sell without loosing ride time.

Thanks for your help, and yes this is my first goped I will look into a bigfoot etc, However in New Zealand gopeds are very very rare, especially rollers. Most of the gopeds get sold running and are therefore quite expensive.

        Ill look at Iped2 tyres.

        Cheers

OBR motors would be the strongest but are expensive.

A Zenoah G320 is the biggest bolt on small block that will fit that isn't a specialty engine. I have a G290 and it's pretty fast on a Sport.
