Sounds like a fuel deprervation problem. I would purchase a Lh Hp carb kit. That should fix your problem while giving you more performance all around. It will make your motor come alive. You can also run the 603 Rc carb but you will have to purchase everything you need separately such as the gaskets, linkage, manifold etc.. The hp carb kit comes with everything you need in the kit. I also think the 167hp carb works better with the smaller bore cylinders.

MY MISTAKE. I read your post wrong. Any way try resetting the carb at 1.5 turns out on the low and 1.25 turns out on the high and report back in.

Im running a 167 on my Rc. It was much better when I ran a RC carb.

      Try Tunning it Some more.

I like the 167 carb way better than the 603 on small bores. Try tuning your carb. A juicebox might help also

Heck no!! Lh's love big carbs. 603 runs way better no matter what on the Lh. I ran a 19mm external pulsed carb on mine and it was killer. It does so on any Lh setup. The bigger the better on the Lh...Not for the 4 ports though.

I took my 603 off my RC a long long time Ago and tried it on a Buddy's Lh and It Sucked. Thats Just my Personale experience, and the Lh was brand new Too.

Something wasn't right whether there was an air leak, carb not tuned, carb jet clogged because it should have ran really good.

Every thing was Right. Gaskets where in Check and everything was tight and Tuned. I ran fine on my rc, put it on the Lh and it ran like crap, put it back on my Rc and cruzed home.

Well first I reccomend getting the carb to work right on the motor its on now. Retune it like I stated above, then if it works you can switch it to the Lh.

also tune the carb to this

                              1) Locate the low and high RPM jets on the side of the carb - they are usually marked with a L and a H. Turn both jets completely CLOCKWISE ( to the fully closed position).
                              2) Rotate the Low jet counter-clockwise to 1 and 1/2 turns open.
                              3) Rotate the High jet counter-clockwise to approx 1 turn open.

use a screw driver for the smaller carb
