      UPDATE:

Hey sorry it's taken so long to give y'all an update. I got the new carb put together and it FIXED MY PROBLEM! Runs great now. I've been able to get it up to 21 MPH.

FYI is took a lot of modifying to make the new carb mount to the engine. I used a drummel tool with a straight cutting bit to oval shape the mounting holes on the new carb, I also ground the transition from carb intake on the engine to make it smooth and maximize air flow.

Thanks for all the help, runs great now!

Awesome! some castings may be different than others, mine didn’t require quite so much work, but I was using an old carb and manifold that had be been taken on/off many times. But regardless, I’m glad you like the results! These motors have the potential to run extremely well with a good tune. also, it’s defiantly worth upgrading the spindle to an .800 or .950 if you’re looking to gain some top speed.

Do I have to worry about over reving it going down hills? Once I found the right bit for my drummel tool it was quick work! Also, what gas oil mix do you use?

24:1 with decent oil. Anything from Maxima or Motul or Klotz techniplate.

Revs should be fine, it uses the smaller wrist pin bearing which is good up to 17k rms. personally I’d up the spindle size unless you are over 190lbs
